Our handmade porcelain copitas are hand-painted with 14k liquid gold.
Porcelain is a special material.
Our porcelain is tinted, not glazed, eliminating the possibility of chipping. It is non-porous, very strong, and doesn't impart any unwanted flavors; mimicking the same characteristics as glass. These little cups are the perfect vessel for sipping your favorite agave spirit!
"Para todo mal, mezcal, para todo bien tambien!"
"For everything bad, mezcal, for everything good as well!"
The design inspiration for our copitas is a combination of the Jicara, a hollowed out small gourd, and from the Veladora, a Catholic votive candle holder with a cross etched into the bottom. Both are used for drinking Mezcal in Mexcio.
“Hasta no ver la cruz” (until I see the cross) is said frequently as a toast.
Each batch of mezcal has its own individual expression of terroir; the taste derived from the place the agave was grown, fermented and distilled. Mezcal is special in this regard and it’s what differentiates it from any other spirit.
The shape of these copitas has been designed with a curved lip in order to contain the aroma from the liquor. Additionally, this design is meant to influence the flow of liquid into the mouth, encouraging you to sip slowly and allow the spirit to reveal itself!
